Undoing the damage done by a modern life is the most important section on this web site. Intense training before getting your body working correctly can result in physical damage.
Stuart McDonald, from Core Life Concepts, takes you through a variety of simple exercises that will reactivate parts of your body, strengthen your core and increase your flexibility. |
Living a high medieval style life (outdoors; physical, manual labour and no computers) and eating healthy (seasonal produce, limited sugar and NO chemicals), would have created a fit, well rounded human.
EMMAA has incorporated the above idea and historical training guides into a program of bodyweight and assisted bodyweight exercises that will make you fitter, stronger and a better practitioner of European Medieval Martial Arts.

EMMAA as the name suggests focuses on European manuals of the late medieval period 1400-1500.
Our program for use in and out of armour has been taken from the writing of many of the masters: Liechtenauer, Fiore dei Liberi, Hanko Dobringer, Sigmund Ringeck, Filippo Vadi and Hans Talhofer just to name a few that were critical to the programs development. We firmly believe, as written in manuscripts, that there is only one art of the sword, that it was mapped out hundreds of years ago and that medieval teachers, influenced by what worked for them, taught from a pool of already established techniques. |
